I'm not a huge reader of SF, but I decided to give this a go since it was short, and because I like the author's fantasy series (which gave me a fun surprise at the end of this).I didn't quite understand everything (again, I'm not a huge SF reader), but Benjamin's writing allowed me to comprehend enough to get the gist and put it all together in the end. Now I have a hankering for the next installment in his fantasy series.

This story was very short. There was a lot of room for more development of the characters and plot. It served as an interesting introduction to other works by this author.
Excellent introduction and well written teaser to what I hope will be an awesome sci-fi, magical fantasy read.
Looking forward to reading more from Benjamin Descovich.
This is a great concept and the writing is good but it is just too short to do the storyline justice. I hungered for more which is perhaps the purpose of this teaser. Ultimately too unresolved to be satisfying.
Too short but otherwise awesome. There's always something magical about the birth of dragons. In this case, that magic seeds (and is seeded by) imaginative technology, boredom, and the endless permutations of DNA...
This short read grabbed my attention and held it. It's not the type I normally enjoy, but I found myself liking. It is well written. My only complaint is it was too short. If you like science fiction mixed with fantasy, you will enjoy this story.
Heaps of great storyline possibilities snaked through my head, triggered by the thoughts, actions and descriptions of the ship, its crew and its cargo. A high seminal series starter, if ever I read one! Well written and thoroughly enjoyable considered as a short story, too.
This is a short story about how a planet is colonized and how things can go wrong. The moral of the story is, if you are getting paid a lot to do a job, there is probably a catch. It is an origin back-fill story for Oranica and as such it is short story and a cliff hanger.
